Meet Dr. Christina Saia, PT, DPT, NASM-CPT

Dr. Christina founded BEYOND Physical Therapy with a simple but powerful mission: to provide personalized, expert care that puts patients’ goals at the center of all decision-making. She believes in treating the whole person, helping individuals move better, feel stronger and live without physical limitations.

A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Dr. Christina skillfully helps patients of all ages regain confidence in their movement. Combining her advanced clinical expertise with a background in strength training and rehabilitation as a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer, she takes a comprehensive approach to care—blending mobility work, strength-building, and rehabilitation to not only relieve symptoms but restore function and improve quality of life.

Her expertise includes:

Frustrated by the limitations of traditional healthcare models, Dr. Christina envisioned a different kind of physical therapy practice—one where patients receive the care they truly need, not just what insurance allows. She launched BEYOND Physical Therapy to offer one-on-one, individualized treatment focused on functional movement, holistic wellness and long-term success.

Are you recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain or simply looking to move with confidence again? Dr. Christina is here to guide you—every step of the way.

What Makes BEYOND Physical Therapy Different?

Most outpatient physical therapy practices stop care once a patient’s injury resolves or insurance coverage ends. At BEYOND, we believe true health is about more than managing symptoms—it’s about optimizing and maintaining your physical wellness for life.

Our physical therapists focus on:

As out-of-network providers, we prioritize your unique needs, not insurance mandates. Payments are collected directly from patients, and we provide superbills for potential insurance reimbursement.

Physical Therapy FAQs

You should see a physical therapist if you experience pain, limited mobility or difficulty with daily activities. Early intervention can prevent further injury and promote faster recovery. As out-of-network providers, you can come to BEYOND PT for preventative and maintenance reasons as well!

BEYOND Physical Therapy operates as an out-of-network practice, meaning we are not directly contracted with insurance providers. This allows our Doctors of Physical Therapy to provide the highest level of care by focusing entirely on what’s best for you, rather than what’s dictated by insurance policies. This also allows us to be direct and upfront about payments with no surprise medical bills.

You may receive reimbursement by submitting a Superbill to your insurance provider for out-of-network benefits. A Superbill is a document that includes all the necessary information for your insurance company to process a reimbursement claim. We recommend calling your insurance provider and asking:

  • Do I have out-of-network coverage for physical therapy?
  • What percentage of the cost will be reimbursed?
  • Is there a deductible I need to meet first?
  • Do I need a physician’s referral for reimbursement?

If you’d like to use your out-of-network benefits, we’ll provide you with a Superbill after your session. You can submit it to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. If you have any questions, we’re happy to guide you through the process!

No, you do not need a referral. Massachusetts has Direct Access laws, allowing you to start physical therapy without seeing a doctor first. This means faster care, fewer delays, and more control over your recovery.
Some insurance plans may still require a referral for reimbursement, so check with your provider if you plan to submit a claim. If we identify a condition requiring medical attention, we may recommend you see a physician.
To get started, simply book an appointment with us—no referral needed! Email, call, or schedule online, and we’ll begin working together on your goals.

At BEYOND Physical Therapy, we offer 60-minute sessions for both evaluations and treatment sessions.

At BEYOND Physical Therapy, our evaluations and treatment sessions are conducted by Doctors of Physical Therapy. You will receive one-on-one care from your Doctor of Physical Therapy the entire session.

Physical therapy focuses on restoring movement, strength, and mobility to help individuals regain function and stay active. Occupational therapy, on the other hand, is more commonly found in hospital, neurological recovery, or pediatric settings and focuses on essential daily activities like eating, dressing, and toileting. While there is overlap between the two fields, PT addresses many of the same challenges as OT, with the exception of specialized hand and mouth functions related to tasks like eating.

Absolutely! We highly recommend this. At BEYOND Physical Therapy, we believe true health is about more than managing symptoms—it’s about optimizing and maintaining your physical wellness for life. We will do a full evaluation to identify any weakness that could lead to injury down the line. We will also address any physical goals that you may have, whether it be increasing flexibility, feeling less tired when climbing the stairs, or doing your first pull-up!
